Block:     Purple Heart
Ink:         Mixes of red, orange, umber (water based)
Paper:     Beechgrove Paperworks Hand-made Hickory blend
Process:  This is a "puzzle" piece, in which the block was sawn in 3 pieces prior to printing. Each piece is inked separately with its separate color, the block is assembled at press. There is a rainbow mix on each piece, which means I mixed two inks while loading the roller. The result is a color print done in one single pass.

Image: I am really just playing around with colors and will do a few more like this. It's fun to cut the piece and then try to figure out where I will split the block into the separate colors...and what colors I will use.
