Block: End-grain maple
Ink: Mix of copper
and umber/wine (red wine, of course)
Paper: BFK Lightweight buff or Fabriano Ingres
buff
Process: Engraving, sketched and cut while sitting at an art-fair.
I rainbow rolled some of these, allowing the copper to fill the sky. See
image below for the plain engraving. I can't really figure out which one
I like best.
Image: An impending road-trip fills my head
with road images. Getting out early is imperative in the heat; by 9:00
am temperatures on the road can reach into the 120's. In the morning, the
desert shimmers with the scant light. Later it will shimmer again, but
due to the distortion from the hot air. An early start is the only way
to safely get out of the Las Vegas valley, as evidenced by the variety
of vehicles stranded and strewn by the sides of the road.
